Whatever is True
“Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think on these things. Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you.””If we want peace, we must be peace””Be the change you want to see in the world””Love one another as I have loved you”I do not do well with fear of any kind. I do not listen to people who try to tell me my own mind. I listen to the recommendations of the above. I get the facts available to me, I form an opinion, I ask my conscience, I determine my position. If I want others to follow my lead, I must give the example that is best to follow. I am a follower of Jesus’s teachings, and as such I am required to behave as one. As we enter the (mercifully) final days of the election, let us remember we are all brothers and sisters in this country. Let us give each other the benefit of the doubt and allow the right of each person to form their own opinion based on their worldview. Most importantly, let us remember what our own example is saying to them. I am still learning.
I pray that both in the United States and in Canada, partisanship will diminish and that those in power will focus on doing what is best for their people.
May God’s will be done in your upcoming election.
Well said, Annette! Amen.
