Welcome to Lent Thing
“Give to the Most High as he has given to you, generously according to your means”
Sirach 1:10
Happy Lent! I am so charged to be back! I have been in a serious dryspell with writing, (thus the plant) but I fully anticipate this season to recharge my imagination and reignite my desire to share God’s goodness with whoever wants to come on this journey with me! I do hope you join me.
“Behold, now is a very acceptable time, behold now is the day of salvation”
Cor. 6:2
As I sat at Mass, this line from today’s readings caught my attention. Maybe because my Pastor said it several times — but really it is true. I subtitled this 40 days toward Less Grievence and More Gratitude because I do think that we are in a space that we have all been dragged unwillingly (or sometimes willingly) that is really the very darkest part of our humanity. But as with all darkness, it is fleeting and weak and suddenly these bursts of lights come from our humanity to counter it. My hope is to be part of the Light energy, which means that I have to take this beautiful season and allow God to transform me through his love. There is literally nothing I can do alone. For this reason I love Lent. I love that it is all about reflecting, repenting and renewing. It is such a hope-filled season even when some of the days can feel very dark and lonely. I have never regretted a well-spent Lent. I have felt the power of that innerwork on Easter morning and beyond.
So after a several year haitus I am back. I have my joy, my scrutiny and desire to be made new.
Let me know your thoughts! How is this lent finding you?
