Quiet Winter Days
The past couple of days have been my favorite kind of January days. A little snowy, Jane Austin filled and quiet…well until kids come home but that is good too. I have been moving from couch to couch, from chore to chore but have felt a real quiet, almost a stillness in my world. Ironic, since the world is a wee bit more out of whack, but thankfully, I have been able to cloister for a bit. My view today is of flakes flying about…without apparent direction but reaching a destination that seems to appeal to them. My woods are quiet and if it weren’t for the garbage trucks, my street would be too. This works for me. I hope peace if finding you today.
I know that people sometimes feel a let down after Christmas but I love to get back to the routine of everyday life – not to mention before you know it – it will be Lent and spring will be here!
It is good to have a day like that. In our busy lives it is almost essential that we carve out a day of quiet as our days get filled too quickly. Jane Austin is one of my favourites as well.
