Two Popes…Two Boats

Maybe it’s me, but having two Popes praying for our collective future is comforting.  When I first looked at this picture, I wondered, what are they each thinking.  With the future ahead of one and the past behind another, what are they praying for?  No doubt; each other.  No doubt; the church.  No doubt; help.  I can’t…

St Patrick’s Day…a wee late!

What kind of Irish Catholic girl am I that I didn’t acknowledge St. Patrick’s Day on the blog!  Well as my apology, I am sharing one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies; The Quiet Man with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara.  I love this scene because of the old man and the…

Taste and See the Goodness of the Lord

I have been walking around with a ridiculous smile on my heart about Papa Francesco.  I was having a conversation with my sister in law yesterday, a devout Catholic who really holds Rome in high esteem, and I was telling her (she who knows me so well!) that I am so very pleased with the…

Article

I wanted to share this article from the Guardian about Papa Francesca. I believe that like all of us, in his life he has lived and learned. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/mar/14/the-pope-francis-i-know

Juxtaposition

I will be honest, Wednesday was an emotional roller-coaster. I was called in early to sub which of course throws off the day anyway, but more so since I wanted to blog and get some other things done. At about 10:30 the school received a phone call that a man had gone to two locations in a…

Need a Prayer/Say a Prayer

We pray for all of those who are in the path of climate destruction. Especially the innocent who have no power in effecting change.

We pray for our world, for those who flee war and injustice, for those who cause it and for our children.

For those who are exposed or suffering from the Coronavirus/RSV and Flu

For healthcare workers and those who put themselves in the service of others.

For an end to racism and anti-Semitism.

For Mark

For the people of Ukraine.

For an immediate end to gun violence.

For our children, that they can have confidence int the adults charged with their care.

For those suffering in the Middle East.

For healing for Anita.

In gratitude for Juliana.

For all of those who ask us to pray for them.

Annette

Easily distracted middle-ager. Wife, mother, sister, friend...some days I do those better than others. Forever frustrating my children because I don't stay still for pictures. Catholic until they kick me out. Hoping for peace. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Be bold.
