Mount Saviour Monastary
Most of the people who know me, know that I take at least one weekend a year and spend it with “my” monks. Several have died over the 27 years that I have been going and their vocations have gone the way of many other vocations. Our family, and the people I go there with (my very dearest friends) have prayed for years that the monks receive the help that they need. The Prior that I had grown up with (Fr. Martin Bohler) has been infirmed these past couple of years. The other monks who have faithfully served the monastery were doing it all on their own (the youngest was in his 50’s) . I forgot to mention, this is a full working sheep farm in addition to being a retreat destination. I decided to check up on them today and to my extreme delight saw that those prayers have been answered. God is always good but most especially when he listens to our pleading! So, here is a link to share with you and to see the happy faces. You will have to click the “Monthly News” tab on the left. http://www.msaviour.org/In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. hmmmm many happy memories are at the monastery. I realize that everything has a season but I wonder if sometimes if this world tries to impose its season over God’s. I’ll keep them in my prayers and if you go plan a trip – let me know!
I will, it may be soon! It could be our helfway point!
Awesome! Trip coming up soon?
I am hoping in October…but I haven’t really thought about it yet except to mention it to my husband. I haven’t been since Spring 2011 and I am feeling it. Wanna join us?? You would LOVE it!
I have to be at my mom’s around 10/7 but let me now!
