Lenten Retreat

We are only days away from the beginning of Lent which is when this blog becomes Lent Thing 7 (well, actually, we use that page!)  Here is an article from NCR about James Martin SJ’s online Lenten retreat.  An idea if you are looking for something different this Lent.
Friend of the blog (and fellow Downton Abbey lover) is featured here.  I love that she describes herself as a “church nerd”  she is in good company. Sometimes when I complain about my church I remind myself of a wife who complains about her husband, (ironically, I rarely complain about my husband!) but who would never leave him. I think that is how it is, so “church nerds” unite!

When the Holy Spirit Plays…

 Click the link to the Facebook post from Vatican Radio-English Edition. Pope Francis during his general audience today concedes to the playfulness of the wind.  If you look, you can see him holding his cross.  When I do this, I am praying to someone.  My guess is that this is the secret to his joy…

  1. Thanks Annette! I was surprised to see that I lead off the article. I really enjoyed Jane’s retreat, and I was exposed to a little of what I believe will be in James Martin’s new ebook, when I saw him in November.
