Just So We Are Clear
As I sit here, there are fifteen people dead from another mass shooting, this time at an elementary school. This on the heels of the mass shooting in Buffalo at a Tops Supermarket. In the backdrop is a Bishop grifting to raise money while denying Nancy Pelosi the Eucharist because she is fighting for the right to make her own reproductive healthcare decisions without the influence or oversight of the state. All I ask is that we put to bed the idea that any of these GOP politicians and the religious that they support are pro-life because if they were they would be fighting with everything they have to end gun violence, racism, climate change, etc. just as they fight to end abortion.
So, let’s just be clear, none of this political stance is pro-life. I am sorry if you have been duped, you are not alone. But none of this upholds the safety and protection of life. I couldn’t be more sick, or more disappointed in where we are and how our faith has been co-opted to get us here. We are all culpable if we continue to do nothing to end this violence of the soul.
