January 21st–Inauguration Day
Found this picture on the Internet…it is food for thought. It may not speak to our time as much as his, but then, perhaps it may. I hope not. But thank God that he and many others did not remain silent. Nor should we. So many people still suffer because the structures we have in place create an environment of inequality. We have come a long way, I am sure, but there is still a ways to go when I think of the following groups where the government can help:Immigrants/Refugees/Migrant Workers
Veterans
The elderly
Children living in impoverished, decaying, gun-filled neighborhoods
The mentally illSara, a reader of this blog, has made it her mission to push the immigration reform agenda…she reminds us everyday of those who help keep our country growing but are unable to become citizens and are instead insulted and belittled because they are easy targets. She cannot be silent and she knows the answer lies within the structure of our laws. Many of us live a life full of blessings. We are, therefore, required to share those blessings….in the spirit of “To whom much is given, much is required.”God bless our President and Vice President and protect and guide them through this second term.

Thanks for the link and phone number Sara! I saw that yesterday and didn’t think to link it!
Annette, so many here in Canada were touched by President Obama’s inaugural speech and are praying that he will be able to bring the needed reforms to fruition during his term.
God bless.
