Grace….
Who would have thought!! I was thinking about a conversation I had recently where my 12 year old in reference to a Priest and a Preacher that I was was speaking of, said, “well, they’re holy” at which point I clarified that we are all, in fact, holy. So it got me thinking this morning, if my child, who has to listen to my diatribe all of the time about her own belovedness still thinks that other people are “holy” (suggesting that there are a select few) then how do people who never get to hear about their own belovedness and holiness every truly understand that they are??? (Oh my goodness, what a horrific sentence!! But I hope you get my drift cause I have to be quick and run to church! :)Anyway, this made me wonder, does Anne LaMott have anything to say about this…so I googled the down to earth wise woman and lo and behold! There is an interview with her on none other than Stephen Colbert! (I am telling you! He is more awesome everyday!) Anyway, here it is and for your perusal. What they are talking about is her book Grace Eventually. But she speaks of the need to see each other as holy children of God, maybe not in those exact words..but close enough.
