God In My Compost: Second Installment
These are the two super pumpkin plants I planted….3 weeks ago mind you. Not in the best place, I admit. Unprotected, shady…far from the water source.
In the deep recesses of the bin, in the darkest place, a flower blooms.
I love the contrast between my effort in the little “Super Pumpkin” plants and what happens when I am not paying attention, in my compost. God’s sense of humor… I think God is like that. I think we only see what we see, and the rest is in the background. You have to choose if you are going to trust God’s background work and remain grounded in your belief, or if you are going to let the forces that surround you sway you. I think especially this year, it is important to stay in your garden with God, let him do his work in you. Trust that you will be brought to a better place within your spirit. When things feel shaky rely on only Him. He knows what he is doing. I should mention that the deer have eaten some of the super pumpkin plants….because I didn’t protect them. Look at the other pumpkins…protected and looking to be truly super.
What a marvellous reflection! I especially appreciate the flower blooming in the darkest place – isn’t that just like God to give us some hope in the midst of our darkest times.
Thanks for your continuing prayers for Karen and her two children. Today they are moving from their home to live with her parents for a while – not easy but necessary.
I’m off to an 8 day silent retreat on Monday and will keep you and your family in my prayers. God bless.
Lynda, thank you for the update on Karen, it was like you were reading my mind. Have a wonderful retreat…may the seed that God has planted in you be nourished in the quiet. But I will miss your feedback! 😉
What lovely thoughts (and garden)! Thanks, Annette!
This is So good!: I think we only see what we see, and the rest is in the background. You have to choose if you are going to trust God’s background work and remain grounded in your belief, or if you are going to let the forces that surround you sway you.
…and it isn’t easy…God knows…but it all serves. Just want to remind you of what you know. We all need that! 😀
