Cookies My Aunt Betty!
Thank you Bishops! My own experience with three children being GS didn’t expose me to thier subversive side, but I am grateful you will! Ok, sorry! I am a little miffed. This article blows me away. Of all the things that we could be doing, and should be doing, this is what the USCCB has opted to put on the agenda. Great. But now here is a thought, have any of them considered working with the girls first hand so they know just what is going on? Have they ever been a member of the Girl Scouts? My husband has! I know the suggestion is far-flung but it speaks the the Bishops not knowing Girl Scouts at all but thinking that they need to investigate to make things right. I mean I get some of it, I agree that there may be troop leaders who are pushing thier own agenda’s that are at odds with the church then they need to find a new place to have their meetings, but I would bet they they were in the minority. We used an Episcopal, Methodist and a Moravian church for our meetings and never once did they suggest to dictate anything to us, there was no need to. What is up with going after the people who are trying to make a difference. What is the deal with thinking that women are getting “to big for thier britches!” I mean, you would think that the church would appreciate that so many domestic things are taught. Cooking, sewing, knitting…these things are very useful in parish ministry. Oh, my snarkiness is showing, but I can’t help it…I am really annoyed. And I will leave you with the GS pledge:
